Growing up, salvias meant those garish red bedding plants (Salvia splendens) but decades later I have come to love this genus of flowers for its versatility, colour and pollinator benefits.
That’s so useful, thank you. I saw Mystic Spires in a neighbour’s garden last year and meant to get it but just didn’t get round to it. More determined than ever to have it now! I am just about to take cuttings of involucrata, Amistad and guaranitica. I did have Phyllis Fancy but seem to have lost it which is a shame because it’s such a beaut.
Thank you - def. worth the effort to get Mystic Spires - I take loads of cuttings so if you are ever in my area (Wincanton) you could pop by and have some. Not grown Phyllis Fancy but I see Sarah Raven stocks that var.
Some very beautiful salvias I wasn't aware of, thank you
Thank you - and so much more still to discover ....
I didn’t realize Rosemary was part of the salvia family. Thank you! What a gorgeous garden. I write about gardening too. You can check it out here. https://open.substack.com/pub/pocketfulofprose/p/im-letting-go-of-my-garden?r=qqbxq&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=w
Thank you - yes renaming all thanks to the reclassification of plant groups ....
