The UK has just had its sunniest March since records began in 1910, with almost 60% more sunshine that the long-term average for March. This sunny weather has been good news for our solar panels which have been busy generating electricity. It was also very dry, with much of the UK receiving below average rainfall. Some areas received barely 10mm, while Wales recorded its 4th driest March since 1836.

Across the Atlantic, the USA experienced one of the windiest months on record. This follows a winter in which many states experienced warmer than average weather, especially in Arizona and Nevada, while a historic snow storm swept along the upper Gulf Coast on January 21 dropping more than 8in of snow in some locations.
